More Information
Visit www.climateride.org to view photos and videos from last year's ride or to register for this year's event. The 2009 Brita Climate Ride has a number of fundraising prizes and incentives, including an all-expense paid trip to the COP15 Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

RTC Named Beneficiary of Second Brita Climate Ride

Last September, members of Team RTC joined more than 100 bicycle riders in the inaugural Brita Climate Ride, a five-day 'conference on wheels' from New York City to the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

This year, for the second Climate Ride, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) won't simply be participating—we've been named as a beneficiary. Along with
Focus the Nation and Clean Air – Cool Planet, RTC will receive a grant from the Climate Ride organization to support our work.

From September 26-30, 2009, hundreds of cyclists will pedal more than 300 miles, hear from expert speakers on climate issues and renewable energy, and have the opportunity to meet with Congress on their arrival in Washington. This year's ride is expected to double in size and scope, so if you missed signing up for RTC's 2009 Greenway Sojourn, Climate Ride is your chance to participate in a terrific event that helps RTC and its programs.

This unforgettable, fully-supported event allows the chance to unite with fellow cyclists during an exciting ride. Experienced leaders handle all the logistics, so Climate Riders are free to enjoy striking up new friendships and engaging in stimulating conversation.

Also, the time is now—with the upcoming
COP15 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December, the 2009 Brita Climate Ride is more timely than ever.

Registration for the Brita Climate Ride is now open for 250 cyclists. The cost to register is $100, and riders then raise a minimum of $2400 to participate.
