If you are in the mood for luxury, book a room at the historic 1778-vintage Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, 11 miles from Lewisburg.

Droop Mountain State Park(304.653.4254), just north of Lewisburg, is the site of the last significant Civil War battle in West Virginia. Take in the awesome scale of the Green Bank Telescope, the world's largest fully steerable telescope, in Green Bank (304.456.2011), about 26 miles from Marlinton in Pocahontas County.
