Dear Campaign Advocate,
If you or any of your colleagues will be attending Pro Walk/Pro Bike in Chattanooga next month, we invite you to join us for an informal gathering to discuss the ACT Act (Active Community Transportation Act of 2010, H.R. 4722). If you're not yet registered for the conference, please consider doing so now!
In addition to Rails-to-Trails Conservancy's (RTC) poster presentation (see page 1 of the poster session listing), we will meet off-site (location TBD) on Tuesday, September 14, tentatively at 6:30-8:30 p.m. We will discuss in greater depth the bill's current status, along with our goals and plans to keep the momentum going strong. No official Pro Walk/Pro Bike conference activies are scheduled during this time (see the full conference program now).
Please RSVP now so we have a sense of how many people to expect. You will be contacted with exact details as they are finalized. Feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues who may be interested in our efforts on the ACT Act, whether or not they have been engaged in the Campaign thus far or represent a Campaign case statement community.
RTC's website now hosts a very attractive two-page handout about the ACT Act. The handout, also linked from the main ACT Act page, can be distributed to a wide range of audiences to communicate some of the benefits and details such an active transportation program could have, with potent talking points and examples to support your case.
RTC's Fall 2010 issue of Rails to Trails magazine included a feature on the Campaign for Active Transportation. If you didn't receive the magazine, please consider joining RTC as a member! You'll receive our quarterly magazine, a free T-shirt, discounts to our online store and more.
The article is also available as a pdf on our website.
