Brockway and Beyond:

Brockway is fast becoming the focal point of a burgeoning rail-trail network in north-central Pennsylvania. RTC assisted Tri-County Rails-to-Trails in creating the Clarion – Little Toby Creek Trail. This 18-mile trail connecting Brockway and Ridgway, Pa. is now fully open and serves as the anchor for this network. To the northeast, a trail has been proposed from St. Mary's to Emporium, with the potential for an eventual link to Ridgway. Feasibility studies are also well underway for connections to Dubois (and possibly Clearfield) to the southeast, and Brookville (and possibly Clarion) to the southwest.

In addition, Brockway was selected by the CDC as one of two communities in Pennsylvania to participate in a pilot healthy community program aimed at combating obesity. RTC has assisted by working to better integrate the trail into the community, and by helping to develop a walk-to-school program.
