Allegheny Trail Alliance (ATA) is a coalition of seven rails to trails organizations building the Great Allegheny Passage, a 150-mile biking and hiking trail connecting Cumberland, Md. and Pittsburgh, Pa. The Passage, of course, is the latter half of the Sojourn itinerary. The ATA is partnering with RTC to organize this "grand opening ride" on the newly completed trail.
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources works to maintain, improve and preserve state parks; to manage state forest lands; and to administer grant and technical assistance programs to benefit rivers conservation, trails and greenways, local recreation, regional heritage conservation and environmental education programs across Pennsylvania.
