Rail-Trail Project:
Cross-Alameda Rail-Trail

With support from the San Francisco Foundation, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) is leading a process to envision the "Cross-Alameda Trail." The trail will include on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle improvements as it travels approximately 3 miles across northern Alameda utilizing portions of the abandoned Alameda Beltline railroad corridor. Working with
Bike Alameda , Pedestrian-Friendly Alameda , Alamedans for Open Space , and the city's Department of Public Works , RTC will involve community members to describe what improvements they'd like to see along the corridor and to build support for the implementation of the trail.

Informal public meetings will take place during February, March and early April. At the culmination of these meetings, two larger public meetings will be scheduled, including one oriented specifically toward youth.
