On April 18, 2020, people across the nation will kick off the spring trail season by hitting their favorite trails. Whether you go for a walk, run, ride, picnic, attend a special Opening Day event, or enjoy trails in some other way, we hope you'll join the celebration!
Opening Day trail events are listed below in a listing by state. We'll be continually updating this page with new events, so if you can't find one near you yet, please: keep checking back, plan your own event or find a local trail to visit.
The ultimate outdoors triathlon, competitors will ski, bike, and run in a course that starts at the top of Kellogg Peak and ends right in our parking lot. A post-race party will take place in the gondola village, featuring a live band, BBQ, awards, and raffle prizes.
Wallace joins in the national celebration of Rails to Trails Opening Day with 2020 Season Opening of the Wallace Mining Museum, Northern Pacific RR Depot Museum and Barnard-Stockbridge Museum, as well as a Craft Beer Pub Crawl here and the Lead Man Triathlon at Silver Mountain. The fun is all just off the Rails to Trails Hall of Fame Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes.
9:00 a.m. - Cleveland Metroparks- Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation. 10:00 a.m. - Cleveland Metroparks South Chagrin Reservation. 5-mile leisure hike. 11:00 a.m. - Cleveland Metroparks - North Chagrin Reservation. Meet with your horse at the Equestrian Trailhead. 12:00 noon - Cleveland Metroparks - North Chagrin Reservation and the Mayfield Village Bruce G. Rinker Greenway. 5-mile ride. 5-km run on paved trails.
Ride your bike (or carpool) to the Bish Discovery Center in celebration of Mother Earth on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Enjoy the displays, attend a walk-n-learn workshop or go for a bike ride! Bring your own binoculars, or borrow ours, as we look to the trees for the newly arrived spring migrant warblers and other songbirds all morning long.

Come help beautify the Trail de Paris with a trash-off event. Meet up at the Love Civic Center Pavilion (2025 S. Collegiate, Paris) at 8am for instructions
Enjoy shopping the many art vendors, listening to live music, eating at one of the wonderful trailside restaurants, crafting with kids, and joining the Spring rail-trail walk.
