RAIL-TRAIL CHAMPION
A Champion Linking the Nation by Trail: An Interview with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton

For her long-standing efforts to support trail networks in her native Washington, D.C., and across the United States, RTC was honored to name Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) America’s 2020 Doppelt Family Rail-Trail Champion.

Rep. Norton, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and chair of its Highways and Transit Subcommittee, has been a major supporter of trails, walking and bicycling in Congress for decades—including her leadership of the INVEST in America Act, which includes game-changing public funding for trails, walking and biking. Hear what Rep. Norton has to say about the importance of trails in this interview from earlier this year.
