RTC has had a national impact at a scale like few other nonprofit organizations. We serve as the sector’s leader in advocacy, trail development, communications and movement building—supporting America’s communities in the creation of 40,000 miles of multiuse trails to date, including 25,000 miles+ of rail-trails. Celebrate Momentum on the Great American Rail-Trail
Join Great American Rail-Trail Project Manager Kevin Belanger and project partners across the country in celebrating the progress made on this epic 3,700-mile cross-country route in 2021. To date, the Great American is 53% complete, with eight of the 12 host states across the route introducing new trail segments since the launch in 2019, and some $54,000,000 in public and private funds being raised for new trail segments.
Support RTC and a National Network of Trails
At RTC, we are building a nation connected by trails. We reimagine public spaces to create safe ways for everyone to walk, bike and be active outdoors. With more than 1 million grassroots supporters, our focus is on linking these corridors—currently 40,000 miles of rail-trails and multiuse trails, and growing—and bringing transformative benefits to communities across the America.
