Trail Traffic Calculator
- RTC recommends using two - four weeks’ trail traffic counts as input data to reduce the estimation error.
- The counts file must be a comma-separated values file (.csv).
- The file must have only two fields (columns). Do not include a header row.
- The first field is the date and time of the observation period, formatted as YYYY-MM-DDThh:00. The time should be in the local time zone, 24-hour format. For example, the correct timestamp for May 1, 2016 at 4:00 pm is 2016-05-01T16:00.
- The second field is the number of users counted. Each line of the file represents one hour.
- You can modify this sample file, which represents a 12-hour continuous count on a busy trail.
- Hourly counts are not required to be continuous. You can upload multiple counts for the same trail location from different times, days, and months in a single file.
