The Stearns County Rails with Trails project’s goal is to extend regional trails outside of St. Cloud to connect them with the existing Stearns County trail network. Since this is a connecting project, an analysis existing trail planning and guidelines is necessary for this study. New trail planning strategies for the extensions are divided into five segments. Benefits, obstacles, and alternatives are also discussed. This study was completed by SRF Consulting Group, Inc. for Stearns County Parks Department.
