Other speakers include County Commissioner Charlie Justice and former Pinellas County Administrator Fred Marquis, for whom the trail was named. Other elected officials and local trail enthusiasts will also speak about the impact the trail has had on their community. Rep. David Jolly (R- Indian Shores) will be in attendance, and State Sen. Jack Latvala (R-Clearwater) has been invited to speak.

WHY: One of Florida's most popular and unique urban pathways, the 44-mile Pinellas Trail, stretches from St. Petersburg north to Tarpon Springs, connecting several county parks, coastal areas and communities. Its multiple access points, mile markers and parking areas make the trail—and the communities it connects—popular destinations among cyclists.

The trail was inducted into RTC’s Rail-Trail Hall of Fame in 2008.
