This study identifies options for trail-building an 18-mile multi-use pathway along the Union Pacific Railroad in Oakland, CA. Additional goals include enhancing existing pathways in the corridor and improving accessibility along the pathways to local attractions and open spaces. Railroad and right-of-way issues are well addressed in this study, since a high-speed commuter rail (BART), AMTRAK service, and utility lines are present in the area.
