Kicking off the weekend on April 15, a group of bicyclists in the Greater Philadelphia area took a ride on the Ben Franklin Bridge to help launch the 750-mile Circuit Trails network! | Photo courtesy RTC

This year's Opening Day for Trails was the best yet—and we've got the photos to prove it. Here are a few examples, below.

At an event in Washington, D.C., hundreds of people helped clear a new walking path on Kingman Island, kicked back to some live music in an REI Village and took a ride on the growing Anacostia Riverwalk Trail

RTC’s Western Regional Office and partners Rich City Rides and Pogo Park took a 15-mile bike ride along the Richmond Greenway in California (there was a walking group too!), which is being transformed into a full-fledged community space. (Thanks to REI for sponsoring the event.)

Performance Bicycle worked their magic to host Great Rides at all 104 of their stores. Here's a photo from the Salt Lake City ride!

And tons of people made their own fun by hitting a trail in their neighborhood and beyond. RTC's Debbie Zwick took a walk with her family on the High Bridge Trail in Farmville, Virginia, and snapped this beautiful shot.

And we'll end with one of our favorite gals. Here's a great one of staff writer Laura Stark's daughter Layla on the Holmes Run Trail in Virginia!

And it’s not too late to share your photos! Post them on your favorite social media platform (we invite you to post on our 2016 Opening Day for Trails Flickr Group Page), and remember to use the hashtag #RTCOpeningDay.

We’ll see you on the trail!
