Healthy Young Hearts: the Beating Pulse of RTC's Mission

Posted 02/04/14 by Eric Oberg in Health and Wellness | Tagged with Schools and Young People, Why Use Trails?

RTC staff work tirelessly around the country on projects that open up opportunities for children and their families to get outside, get active and ultimately be together. We believe that trails are one of those special places where families can not only spend quality time together, which is so important, but also allow for that special time to be spent making every family member healthier through movement.

Posted 12/19/12 by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy in Success Stories, Building Trails | Tagged with Ecology and Environment, New Jersey, Private Fundraising, Schools and Young People, Urban Pathways

The ongoing transformation of Camden, New Jersey, is a terrific case study of what Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) is about. From our core mission of recycling disused rail corridors into public pathways, in recent years RTC has expanded that work to building broader, more connected urban trail networks and encouraging new generations of Americans to walk and bike for daily transportation.
