Nancy Sorrells

Just as the Blue Ridge Tunnel straddles two geographic regions of Virginia, Nancy Sorrells has straddled two distinct writing genres in her more than four decades of journalism work. A public historian by training who is drawn to the outdoors, she likes nothing better than to receive an assignment that, like this one about the tunnel, combines those two loves. Nancy and her husband, Randy, live in Greenville, Virginia (on the western side of the tunnel), with their two dogs, one cat and fish.
