We’ve teamed up with partners and supporters from across the country to invite everyone to spend April 26 out on the trail, because when we show up on trails—and celebrate all the ways they deliver joy and impact—we send a message loud and clear that these spaces are essential to our lives and communities.

Latino Outdoors Events:

Chicago, IL
Come kick-off Semillitas Week with Latino Outdoors – Chicago, City Kids Outdoors, and Somos Arte as we lead our little semillitas on a nature hike as we learn about trees, their biology, and the importance of urban forests! After the hike, we will come together and encourage our little semillitas to use their inspiration on rock painting! Don’t Worry! We will supply the rocks and the art supplies. We’ll end the festivities with a piñatafood, and some giveaways!

Forest Park Walk – Semillitas Outdoors & Celebrate Trails Day! We’re headed to Queens for a family-friendly and leisurely walk through Forest Park! We’re celebrating National Trails Day & Semillitas Outdoors, so we’ll have some gifts to raffle as well as pan dulce to enjoy! We’ll have the option for folks to enjoy a 2-mile or 4-mile route–both have some gentle rolling hills with a mix of paved and/or compacted terrain trails. Families and all ages are encouraged! Registration is required and FREE. Please complete this waiver to ensure your spot.

Please join us for fun and games at Smith Cove! We will have food, games, and a visionary trail walk to talk about the improvements happening in Westport for the Middle Branch Trail. There will be free potted plants, flowers, and seeds for Celebrate Trails Day!

Come and celebrate the opening of the new Hellbender Preserve and Trail!
Ribbon cutting at 10:30am. This project has been ten years in the making, and Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District is so excited to share it with you!

Participate in adaptive cycling demos, guided walks and accessible trail activities suitable for all abilities. Explore booths from organizations promoting conservancy and health including Rails to Trails Conservancy, Friends of Chester Valley, Chester County Planning Commission and more.

Come take a walk to celebrate how essential the Circuit Trails are for bringing our communities together—across rivers, regions, and state lines. Hear from leaders who represent the power of infrastructure and community to show what’s possible—and what’s at stake.

Rocky Mountain West Region:

Deer Lodge, MT
All ages, all abilities are invited to participate in a Deer Lodge Scavenger Hunt! You’ll have two options: a “Downtown Option” will take you on a 1.5 mile course through downtown Deer Lodge! A “Backcountry Option” (bike recommended) will take you on a 12 mile bike ride through Deer Lodge, to Garrison, MT. We encourage walking, running, or non-motorized “rolling” – such as biking, rollerskating, or skateboarding. Prizes at each location + several overall “grand prizes!”
