I was lucky enough to grow up near a great rail-trail—the W&OD Trail in Northern Virginia—and as a child I used it regularly for leisurely rides.

One significant way Americans are addressing their mental health needs during the coronavirus is through frequent activity in the outdoors.

I’d heard too many great things about the 22-mile Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail over the years, and I wanted to finally ride it myself.

We also got many questions—about the prevalence of experiences of inequity and injustice in the outdoors as well as what we’re doing about it.
