In thousands of communities, the place people head for some exercise is the trail. Whether they’re training for a marathon or using their local trail system to get to work, people are racking up minutes of physical activity on the trails where they live. These moments on the trail are so much more than a day outside. They keep us all healthy and well. Join RTC; the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Active People, Healthy Nation initiative; and Special Olympics for a conversation about why trails are critical to our health—making it safer and easier for everyone to be active outside.

This conversation is part of RTC’s Celebrate Trails Day Virtual Event Series—weekly explorations of the many ways trails contribute to the well-being of people, places and the planet.
