Webinar – TrADE Talk: State Innovations for Transportation Alternatives
RTC’s Transportation Alternatives Data Exchange (TrADE) is the nation’s go-to transportation funding data source for trails and active transportation, tracking TA spending for tens of thousands of projects. The TrADE report helps stakeholders at the federal, state and local levels understand and make effective use of the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program funding. It is an important tool for states, regions and active transportation professionals to understand spending patterns and strengthen the program, thus improving the efficiency and impact of investments made.
During this TrADE talk, attendees learned from Transportation Alternatives Program staff about state innovations for Transportation Alternatives funds. Attendees heard from Kansas DOT’s Active Transportation Manager, Jennifer Kramer, Montana DOT’s Transportation Alternatives Engineer, David Holien, and Michigan DOT’s TAP Manager, Michael Smith as they cover how they are taking advantage of TAP funding. Topics included technical assistance pilot projects, the role of grant coordinators assisting local agencies, stipends for disadvantaged communities, and using safety funds to meet match requirements.
