All over the world, people are turning to trails and parks for safe activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Compared to last year at this time, trail use is up by more than 60% nationwide as people venture outdoors for exercise, solace, self-care and to create their own special and unique moments.
Spending time on trails together is providing us with great ways to connect with one another at a safe social distance, have shared experiences and collectively appreciate these vital public spaces.
Through our national Trail Moments initiative, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) is inviting everyone—both new and tried-and-true trail users—to share these special moments of connection and demonstrate what trails mean to each of us right now.
Here, we’ve collected a small bouquet of #TrailMoments from people across the country; we hope you are as inspired as we are!
Looking for a trail near you? Check out TrailLink.com, RTC’s free trail-finder website. For more information and resources on how to #RecreateResponsibly outside, go to railstotrails.org/COVID-19.
