Webinar – Innovative State Legislative Approaches: Addressing a Challenging Environment
Join Rails to Trails Conservancy to learn more about, “Innovative State Legislative Approaches: Addressing a Challenging Environment.” During this webinar, RTC policy staff and featured guests discussed best practices for building a state legislative agenda focused on achieving policy wins and funding for active transportation. The session touched on legislative basics and timelines before diving into how to address new funding challenges with creative approaches to creating and defending funding sources for walking, biking and trails.
We were joined by Lily Bostrom, Senior Environmental Planner at Ascent in California, and Luke Hoffman, Executive Director of Iowa Bicycle Coalition, to learn more about state policies that exempt trails from regulatory burdens and how to oppose state funding cuts to trails as well as additional innovative approaches to state-level trail decisions.
