This report, Great American Rail-Trail Route Assessment, was originally published by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) in May 2019. This updated version was published in May 2021.

Ohio has the fifth-most rail-trails, and more than 1,000 miles of completed rail-trail with multiple trail networks in development.

RTC has announced the recipients of its 2021 Trail Grants Program, awarding a total of $145,000 to support 11 trail projects across the country.

In October, a new slate of 30 trails in 25 states were ushered into the ranks of top outdoor destinations as 2020’s National Recreation Trails by U.S. Secretary of the Interior.

The outdoors always brings me pleasure and relaxation, but this year it means more than ever. I explored new places and identified new flora and fauna.

The Little Beaver Creek Greenway introduces visitors to the beauty and history of the Appalachian foothills. Located in a former railroad depot, the Lisbon trailhead is about a quarter mile from the actual start of the greenway.
